When we sometimes get lost in memories from our childhood, could it be that we momentarily forget the pain of our harsh reality and manage to smile gently? Perhaps this can be a small comfort for us.

For me, one such comfort was the storybook Alice in Wonderland. I still remember it quite vividly. I recall being deeply immersed in the journey to Wonderland... Even now, it remains a part of my memories, occasionally offering solace when I am weary from daily life. I project my thoughts and image onto Alice, bringing various characters into the narrative to make the mundane aspects of life into something special. I focus on creating narrative-driven paintings that blend pop art with painterly elements, aiming to create stories with a popular appeal. This endeavor will likely be based on the pursuit of endless change and imagination.

우리가 한 번 쯤은 어릴 적 기억 속에 빠져들다 보면 잠시 힘든 현실에서의 고통을 잊고 지그시 미소 지을 수 있지 않을까!
그렇다 어쩌면 그것이 우리에겐 작은 위안이 될 수 있을 것이다.
나에겐 이상한나라의 엘리스 라는 동화책이 그 중 하나였다. 아직도 꽤나 선명하게 기억하고 있다. 이상한나라로의 여행 속에 푹 빠져있었던 나의 모습들을....
그 후로도 오랫동안 나의 기억 속에 머물며 일상에서 지친 나에게 가끔은 위로가 되었던 엘리스에게 나의 모습과 생각을 투영해 그것을 구체화하며 함께 동반하는 다양한 캐릭터를 등장시켜 일상에서의 사서로움도 특별한 이야기가 될 수 있도록 서사중심의 회화작업을 해 나가고 있다. 팝 아트와 회화적 요소의 융합을 토대로 대중적 양상의 이야기를 만들어 가려 함 이다. 그것은 아마도 끝없는 변화의 추구와 상상을 토대로 이루어질 것이다.
